Cost Estimation Supervisor Responsibilities
  • Direct and lead the estimating division in formulating cost assessments for ship repair and maintenance initiatives.
  • Examine and interpret project specifications, drawings, and related documents to produce accurate estimates.
  • Establish and uphold standardized estimating methodologies and tools to guarantee consistency and precision.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to collect essential information for estimates.
  • Assess subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure they meet project specifications and budgetary constraints.
  • Track and evaluate project expenditures to identify trends and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators to foster their professional development.
Cost Estimation Supervisor Position Requirements
  • Familiarity with Navy vessels and ship construction techniques.
  • Understanding of NAVSEA standards along with federal and state regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and comprehending government contracts.
  • Experience in proposal writing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary credentials for access to federally controlled work sites.
