Job Summary

This position is for a Survey Crew Chief in our Hobart, IN office. As a key member of our survey team, you will be responsible for leading the daily activities of our field survey crew and ensuring the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily activities of the field survey crew, including construction staking, subdivision staking, boundary and topographic surveys
  • Prepare daily field notes on projects and perform minor calculations in the field for staking
  • Perform daily data uploads and downloads, and maintain survey equipment and vehicles
  • Provide direction to survey technicians and perform quality control
  • May require travel and overnight stays, with daily per diem provided for lodging and meals

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of survey construction layout experience
  • Experience with Topcon equipment and magnet field software
  • Ability to perform data collector calculations and read and interpret construction plans
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Organizational skills to plan, schedule work, and complete assignments within established timeframes
