Furnace Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled Furnace Operator to join our team at Production Castings Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our aluminum furnaces, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and adhering to safety protocols.

1. Operate and Maintain Furnaces: The Furnace Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining our central re-melt furnaces, ensuring they are clean, charged, and at the desired temperatures at all times.
2. Clean and Charge Furnaces: The operator will be responsible for cleaning, charging, and maintaining the 8 holding furnaces at the die cast cells, ensuring they are in good working condition.
3. Temperature Control: The Furnace Operator will be responsible for maintaining the correct temperature control of the furnaces, ensuring that the metal delivered to the holding pots is properly cleaned and at the correct temperature.
4. Work Area Maintenance: The operator will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that all equipment and tools are in good working condition.
5. Inventory Management: The Furnace Operator will be responsible for managing the inventory of component parts, such as Ross cones, carbon lances, and fluxes, ensuring that they are properly stored and maintained.

• Background and Experience: Prefer 1-3 years of experience in a related field, but will train the right candidate.
• Technical Knowledge: Forklift certification by Production Castings Inc.
• Other: Must be able to lift and move ingots weighing up to 70 pounds, and work in extreme heat conditions.
