Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Christus Health. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams, administer premedication and radioactive isotopes, and transfer patients to examining tables after checking charts.
  • Comply with unit and departmental scheduling guidelines, and be prepared to start shifts on time.
  • Perform skills according to accepted standards, as listed in the orientation skills checklist.
  • Survey the amount of radiation given off by radioactive material shipped to the department, and measure the radioactive dosage prescribed for patients using a dose calibrator.
  • Scan patients, make proper settings, and maintain supplies, restock, and report as needed.
  • Record information on patient care and examination, maintain records on scans and test results, and file patient records.
  • Properly prepare and label radiopharmaceuticals, and always wear a film badge above the collar.
  • Turn in film badges monthly for evaluation and follow up on results, and always wear a film badge ring when on duty.
  • Survey the Hot Lab and scan room for contamination daily, and perform all daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual surveys and QC.
  • Ensure written documentation is accurate, concise, and legible, and perform daily checks on the emergency drug box in the Nuclear Medicine department.
  • Coordinate scheduling of patient exams, order isotopes, pharmaceuticals, and other supplies as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate in Applied Sciences preferred.
  • Licenses & Certifications: C-CNMT and L-Nuclear Medicine NMT required; C-BLS preferred.
