Job SummaryThe Critical Care Travel Nurse will work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting, caring for patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in a PCU setting.
- Monitor cardiac and other critical vital signs and detect any changes, enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations.
- Initiate and revise patient care plans based on continuing assessments.
- Include patient teaching and discharge planning in overall care plans.
- Document nursing interventions and patient responses according to hospital policy.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and methods of implementation.
- Practice within the limits of the state's Nurse Practice Act and health care facility and nursing administrative policies.
- Supervise ancillary personnel in their performance of assigned job-related duties.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and the rights of the patient.
- Maintain and update skills needed for excellence in patient care.
- Administer complex cardiac medications, including titration based on patient vital signs.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current licensure in good standing.
- Minimum of one year of current hospital experience in PCU specialty.
- Evidence of current BLS and ACLS required.
