We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Electrician to join our team at Occidental Petroleum Corporation's Battleground Plant in La Porte, TX. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining the electrical systems and equipment, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including 120V AC controls, 480V motors, and 4160V switchgear
• Conduct evaluation tests on motors and maintain prints and files in proper place
• Support Process Safety and Risk Management goals and objectives
• Participate in site-wide Process Safety and Risk Reduction activities as requested
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including shop, tools, and equipment
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Five (5) years process instrumentation/electrical maintenance experience in industry OR two (2) years maintenance experience in industry and Associates Degree in Electrical Technology or Certificate of Technology in Electrical
• NCCER certification in electrical and/or instrumentation preferred
• Proficient in troubleshooting 120V AC controls and 480V, 4160V, 13.8KV switchgear
• Working knowledge of motor repair, inspection, and troubleshooting motor control systems
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
• High proficiency in Microsoft applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team
• Valid driver's license
• Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and respond to visual and audible alarms
