Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Lancaster General Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation, ensuring that all necessary items are available and in good working order.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all procedures are conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Provide direct patient care, including preparing patients for surgery, positioning them for procedures, and monitoring their vital signs during surgery.
  • Participate in the on-call system for emergency and urgent cases, responding promptly to situations that require immediate attention.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including surgical logs and patient information.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in surgical technology or a related field preferred.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
  • At least one year of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and supplies, as well as stand for long periods of time.
