Work Schedule: Saturday-Wednesday 6am-2:30pm

Your Role

The Café Service Associate position entails a variety of responsibilities, including preparing the café for efficient service in the morning and ensuring a smooth transition at the end of the day. This includes stocking items such as snacks, sandwiches, and beverages, as well as brewing coffee. You will also assist in serving hot meals during lunch hours and may involve light preparation of café items. Your essential role as a customer experience representative will be to foster authentic connections between customers and your internal colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive demeanor.
  • Prepare the café area by assessing stocking needs.
  • Brew and replenish coffee throughout your shift as required.
  • Stock supplies including cups, napkins, and refrigerated items.
  • Clean and sanitize frequently touched surfaces during your shift.
  • Monitor equipment temperatures and report any irregularities.
  • Assist in the preparation of baked goods, salads, and sandwiches.
  • Serve hot food items during lunch and support other areas as needed.
  • Restock food items on the service line as necessary.
  • Inform customers about menu items when requested.
  • Recognize customer and colleague needs when appropriate.
  • Ensure an exceptional experience for customers during their visit.
  • Restock the café at the end of your shift.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service and the food industry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of standing and walking for at least 8 hours.
  • Food handler certification required.
  • Candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening as per applicable state laws.
  • Must provide documentation for work authorization; we utilize E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility in the United States.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, act with urgency, and focus on details.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

This role involves exposure to varying temperatures while performing tasks such as retrieving items from cold storage. While serving customers, you will encounter hot areas around cooking equipment. The café is equipped with refrigerators that you will need to stock and access, in addition to working in the standard ambient temperature of the café. Frequent walking is essential when navigating the café, service line, and kitchen. Lighting conditions may vary depending on the area of work.
