Agronomy Professional

R.D. Offutt Farms and Syngenta, leaders in the agriculture industry, are partnering to offer a unique internship experience for students pursuing a career in agriculture.

This internship will provide selected students with hands-on learning opportunities working on real projects and solutions.

Agronomy interns will learn about the nutritional value and sustainability of potatoes, crop development, insect and weed scouting, soil sampling, petiole sampling, social responsibility in agriculture, and complete an individual agronomy project.

They will gain experience in a vertically integrated farm, from seed production to processing, working with industry experts from R.D. Offutt Farms, Syngenta, and university professors who support the potato industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with crop development, insect and weed scouting, soil sampling, petiole sampling, and social responsibility in agriculture.
• Complete an individual agronomy project and field agronomy problem-solving.
• Gain on-the-job experience learning from industry experts.
• Present project to leadership and receive presentation training through Syngenta.
• Maintain a clean work area and care for tools, machines, and equipment.

Requirements:

• Enrolled or attending an approved agriculture program.
• Maintain an acceptable GPA and attendance.
• Proactively communicate with management while attending school.
• Adhere to academic policies and regulations.
• Agriculture experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills and excellent customer service skills.
