Nurse Residency Program Coordinator

The Nurse-Resident role involves attending quality and core curriculum classes, actively participating in professional development workshops and peer support groups, and successfully completing all clinical competencies and validation requirements of the Nurse Residency Program. This position works under the direct and indirect supervision of the Clinical Education Team, refining nursing knowledge and skills. The Nurse-Resident actively participates in managing clinical situations for which they are assigned under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse who oversees all clinical experiences, documentation, and procedures in the clinical environment.
Responsibilities- Collects patient data and completes required forms with appropriate responses according to unit standards.
- Develops a plan of care based on nursing process and incorporates the plans of other disciplines and continuing care needs.
- Provides treatments/procedures and other care as prescribed and according to patient care standards.
- Acts as an advocate and coordinator of patient care with other healthcare personnel and evaluates patient care measures instituted.
- Delegates nursing care to appropriate personnel and integrates cost-effective measures into nursing practice.
This is a non-management role that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The minimum requirements include:
- An Associate's degree in Nursing is required, with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing is required.
- No previous experience is required, but candidates with greater than 12 months of experience are not eligible.
The required certifications/registrations/licenses include:
- Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina.
- BLS required.
This role is located at Laurens County Medical Campus, with the facility being 1062 Laurens County Hospital and the department being 10626422 Cardiac Telemetry.
