Role Overview:
As a vital member of our Student Support Services (SSS) teams, Educational Speech Therapists play a crucial role in helping schools overcome challenges that hinder students' access to their educational journey and personal development.
Position Highlights:
An exciting opportunity is available for enthusiastic and dedicated Speech Therapists to become part of the Student Support Services (SSS) within the Department of Education (DE) in the Inner East Area. We welcome applications from recent graduates.
The Department of Education seeks talented and motivated Speech Therapists to engage in meaningful work with our SSS teams, addressing barriers that affect students' educational achievements and overall growth. You will collaborate with a diverse team of professionals who share a common mission, and you will receive strong support to utilize your expertise in delivering specialized assistance at individual, group, school, and regional levels.
As part of a multidisciplinary health, wellbeing, and inclusion team, your efforts will contribute to enhancing the capabilities of schools in fostering student achievement, engagement, and wellbeing.
What We Offer:
The work we do is of great importance, offering few comparable opportunities to positively influence the lives of children and young people.
Our benefits include:
- Flexible working arrangements
- Professional development and learning opportunities
- Embedded Professional Supervision Framework
- A supportive team environment
- Access to fleet vehicles (subject to availability)
- A laptop, phone, and, if necessary, an iPad
- Access to a comprehensive assessment and therapy resource library
- A competitive salary with opportunities for salary progression
- A variety of salary packaging options
- Generous leave entitlements, including the option to purchase additional leave
We recognize that the success of our State is intertwined with the success of our workforce. If you are motivated by a desire to contribute to the broader vision and future success of our children and our State, then a career in our SSS allied health workforce is for you.
Required Qualifications:
A graduate or post-graduate degree in Speech Pathology, eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA), a current Australian Driver's License, and a Working with Children Check are essential.
Diversity and Inclusion:
The department values diversity and inclusion in all forms, including gender, religion, ethnicity, LGBTIQ+, disability, and neurodiversity. We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates to apply.
For further information regarding this position, please refer to the attached position description.
