Job Summary

The Clinical Therapist provides psychological services and behavioral support to assigned clients, as well as consultation to other professionals or members of the interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides clinical leadership in a residential treatment program in collaboration with treatment team members.
  • Responsible for program development and implementation and the provision of individual and group psychotherapy services as well as crisis management/stabilization services.
  • Conducts initial and follow-up assessments as determined by individualized treatment plans and monitors progress toward treatment goals.
  • Provides staff education and training on individual treatment needs and topics in support of the care of program participants.
  • Develops, implements, and supports a treatment milieu designed to support the specialized treatment needs of program participants, in collaboration with other treatment team members.
  • Provides individual, group, and family therapy treatment services.
  • Develops a behavior support plan with behavior change/support strategies to facilitate participant success.
  • Conducts training on behavior support plans for all staff in all disciplines involved in the individual care.
  • Collects and analyzes data to monitor the efficacy of behavior change strategies.
  • Participates in monthly medication review meetings with the psychiatrist, primary care physician, nurse, and other treatment team members and provides data to inform the team of participant progress.
  • Provides crisis management services which may include the facilitation of emergency psychiatric hospitalization services, when necessary, under the supervision of the Clinical Director.
  • Completes all required documentation, monthly summaries, Biopsychosocial evaluations, wellness plans, behavior support plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Participates in ongoing collaborative team meetings in support of participant care.
  • Provides related counseling services identified in the IEP of residential students attending on-campus education programs.
  • Facilitates, monitors, and documents therapeutic leave in support of family reunification/community reintegration.
  • Participates in discharge planning meetings, supports the transition process, and provides any necessary documentation to facilitate community reintegration.
  • Develops and monitors measurable objectives and data to ensure the efficacy of treatment goal implementation and delivery of service.
  • Maintains credentials and continuing education requirements.
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices.
  • Certification in select evidence-based practices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of psychopathology and human development.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the field of social services and/or working with children or adolescents.
