Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at The Publisher Hotel in Fredericksburg, VA. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and presentation of our menu items, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency in every dish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Develop and implement menus that showcase our culinary expertise and meet the expectations of our discerning guests.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of cooks and kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Food Safety and Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality control, ensuring that all menu items meet our rigorous standards.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies and ingredients as needed to maintain optimal kitchen operations.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that every guest has a memorable dining experience.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, with a proven track record of success in menu planning, team leadership, and food safety.
  • Culinary Education: A degree in culinary arts or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team of staff and guests.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
