Deploy Alloy is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Release Manager to join their remote team. This role will play a crucial part in managing and enhancing our software release processes, with a focus on IBM iSeries and Microsoft Azure platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule software releases, taking into account dependencies, timelines, and business priorities.
  • Lead the coordination and execution of software releases, ensuring minimal disruption to IBM iSeries and Azure-based production environments.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems to manage releases effectively, including deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Leverage Azure expertise to design and maintain Azure-based deployment pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions.
  • Manage version control systems and ensure accurate versioning of code and artifacts across both IBM iSeries and Azure platforms.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to develop and implement release testing strategies that ensure the highest levels of software quality.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems specific to IBM iSeries and Azure environments to promptly detect and address post-release issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive release documentation tailored to IBM iSeries and Azure deployments, including release notes, deployment procedures, and post-release reports.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and improvements within the release management process, mainly focusing on IBM iSeries and Azure environments.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with software releases on IBM iSeries and Azure platforms.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Release Manager, with a strong background in both IBM iSeries and Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices, such as CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and infrastructure as code.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Certifications in IBM iSeries or Microsoft Azure are a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
