Role Responsibilities:
The Intermediate Mechanical Engineer will leverage their design expertise to create construction documentation for project stakeholders and provide ongoing professional support throughout the construction lifecycle. This role serves as the main point of contact for coordination and communication between the design team and clients, ensuring effective project management and professional oversight.
Key Duties Include:
- Managing project timelines and design communication between the design team and clients with accuracy and timeliness.
- Assisting in the preparation of precise proposals and engineering agreements in line with company standards.
- Producing mechanical system design elements that meet project specifications promptly.
- Conducting research on design options that align with project requirements.
- Selecting suitable equipment for various project types.
- Creating accurate construction HVAC documents for permitting.
- Performing load calculations and engineering specifications within project parameters.
- Executing quality assurance and quality control processes consistently.
- Coordinating projects with internal and external stakeholders.
- Providing consultation on project schedules, deadlines, site surveys, and compliance with building codes.
- Participating in post-design consultations and representing the firm in client meetings through project completion.
- Overseeing and mentoring junior engineers and designers.
- Ensuring timely billing of projects to the accounting department.
- Adhering to established work rules, policies, and procedures.
- Engaging with team members to enhance processes, create efficiencies, and reduce costs.
- Taking on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Understanding of engineering drafting standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- Minimal travel anticipated (0-10%).
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000
