Position Overview:
The Clinical Care Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. Key responsibilities include welcoming patients, monitoring vital signs as necessary, preparing examination rooms, maintaining accurate medical records, sterilizing medical instruments, and managing phone communications effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Accurately records the patient's primary concerns in the medical documentation.
2. Ensures all laboratory results are available for the physician's review.
3. Cleans and sterilizes instruments in accordance with established protocols and maintains a tidy workspace.
4. Assists in the management of medical and office supplies.
5. Distributes and routes faxes, test results, and referral letters as required.
6. Handles incoming calls and returns patient inquiries promptly.
7. Manages electronic medical records and monitors alerts/flags.
8. Aids physicians during medical procedures and prepares sterile kits as per guidelines.
9. Provides discharge instructions and educational materials to patients, reviewing them thoroughly.

Qualifications:

Skills & Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare office setting is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Familiarity with AthenaHealth practice management software, timekeeping systems, and electronic health record packages is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
Must adhere to all HIPAA privacy and security regulations and be knowledgeable of OSHA standards.
