Job Summary

Body Fit Plus Inc is seeking a highly skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team at a correctional facility in Coalinga, California. As a Recreational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic services to patients, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate changes in patient's condition to the Director of Recreational Therapy and interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Provide Feedback: Provide pertinent feedback to the interdisciplinary treatment team regarding patient response to therapy, treatment interventions, and therapeutic objectives.
  • Assess Patient Needs: Provide assessment in psychosocial/leisure and recreation skills development/deficiency.
  • Document Interventions: Ensure timely documentation of interventions and ensure interventions are based on the patient's plan of care.
  • Teach Coping Skills: Teach coping skills and stress management techniques to patients and display a balance leisure lifestyle.
  • Utilize Advanced Knowledge: Utilize advanced knowledge of counseling and therapeutic concepts and methods for determining therapeutic services for psychiatric, traumatic, and chemically dependent patients.
  • Demonstrate Group Dynamics: Demonstrate knowledge of group dynamics as well as therapy and practice of group processing.
Requirements
  • Experience: Twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years rendering direct patient care in public or private institution.
  • Certifications: Valid Photo ID Driver's License or Passport, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association, NATIONAL or CA Recreational Therapist Certificate.
