Early Childhood Educator Position at Jo's Kids

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Jo's Kids, Innovative Discovery School. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom and creating a safe and stimulating environment that fosters social, emotional, and physical growth in children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized and group activities to promote cognitive, social, and emotional development in children.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.
  • Establish a healthy classroom environment by maintaining proper hygiene and cleanliness standards and ensuring the safety and security of children.
  • Manage accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
  • High energy and ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, and parents to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Deep understanding of child development principles and infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Ability to pass a full background check and health screening.
  • Meet specific vision requirements and possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Expected to arrive on time for scheduled shifts and remain with the class until the end of the shift.

Salary Information:

The starting salary for this position is $12.00 per hour, with the potential to reach up to $15.00 per hour based on experience and education. Benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, and a sign-on bonus after a probationary period.
