POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer is tasked with delivering specialized knowledge in plumbing, fire safety, and wastewater management systems.

This role entails providing comprehensive technical assistance to project managers and site supervisors to ensure adherence to client specifications and project demands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and update client design criteria documents for plumbing, fire protection, and wastewater systems to align with current design standards.
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations for fire protection systems, plumbing vacuum and condensate systems, sanitary and grease waste drainage systems, domestic water systems, and wastewater systems.
- Offer engineering and design support related to LEED certifications, valve engineering, and site utility engineering.
- Conduct engineering reviews of plumbing, fire protection, and wastewater treatment system designs across various business sectors.
- Provide engineering assistance to the Construction Development Group by overseeing and collaborating with external engineering consultants on designated projects.
- Work closely with Construction Project Management on all plumbing, fire protection, and wastewater treatment system tasks, including site visits for minor projects.
- Deliver technical support, analysis, cost estimates, and recommendations to Maintenance Managers and Supervisors regarding the repair or replacement of plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Serve as an internal resource for the Real Estate, Regulatory Compliance, and Utility Departments concerning plumbing, fire protection, and wastewater treatment systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 8 years of pertinent experience.
- Professional Engineer designation in Plumbing or Fire Protection is mandatory.
- Prior experience in designing and constructing plumbing and fire protection systems, particularly in supermarkets or food processing environments.
- Proven track record with complex plumbing, fire protection, and wastewater systems projects.
- Ability to interpret and apply local and state codes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage directly with clients and resolve issues effectively.
- Proficiency in shared workflow technologies (Microsoft Office, Egnyte, iCloud) and AutoCAD.
