Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Medical Director and Administrative Leadership, the Sleep Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight, management, and support of the sleep lab operations. This role involves direct supervision of staff and addressing all staffing and human resources matters within the sleep laboratory. The Supervisor will also monitor workflow, assess technician performance, establish procedures, and recommend systems to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, the Supervisor will maintain and improve clinic operations, which include preparing, analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on the department's budget and variances, as well as managing personal issues, inventory control, and material management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops, reviews, and implements departmental policies and procedures in collaboration with the Medical Director.
- Identifies and monitors Performance Improvement (PI) Indicators, analyzing data to ensure targets are met.
- Actively participates in the recruitment, training, and counseling of staff, assessing competency and conducting performance evaluations promptly.
- Contributes significantly to the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies and equipment.
- Ensures that employee interdepartmental records and files are current and accurate.
- Oversees and engages in the orientation and clinical training of both new and existing staff.
- Fosters a collaborative environment where team members work together to achieve shared goals.
- Acts as a liaison to meet organizational objectives, participating in multidisciplinary teams and projects to enhance effectiveness.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Job Specific Requirements:
- Demonstrates clinical proficiency in patient care relevant to the department.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and apply relevant policies effectively.
- Exhibits excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Able to lead and direct the work of others while collaborating with management.
- Maintains a positive attitude and supports the organization while working with team members.
- Possesses a basic understanding of financial and statistical tools.
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and its accurate use.
Education:
High School/GED Equivalent is required. An accredited educational program or an Associate's Degree in Sleep Technology is necessary. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience performing sleep study procedures is required.
Certifications and Licensures:
BLS certification is required. A Polysomnographic license and/or certification as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS) is also required.
