Music Therapist

HRI Hospital is seeking a Music Therapist / Activity Therapist for our inpatient psychiatric units. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for a clinical professional who thrives on providing individualized care to a very acute patient population.
This is a 40 hour per week, Tuesday - Saturday position at our 66-bed psychiatric facility with adult inpatient services and several partial hospitalization programs. As a Music Therapist, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of dynamic professionals providing high quality care to a diverse inpatient and outpatient group of individuals. We are located in Brookline, near Boston University and Coolidge Corner, with easy access to public transportation and free parking.
Responsibilities:- Run assigned treatment groups to meet the needs of various functioning levels and/or diagnostic categories
- Utilize interviewing techniques, observations, and formal and informal screening/evaluation tools to assess the functional level of patients
- Identify patients' assets and problem areas
- Collaborate with patients in goal-setting
- Recommend appropriate activities for goal attainment and assist patients in selecting groups and activities
- Complete daily notes for each group

- Master's in human services related field required. Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or other expressive therapy specialty preferred.
- OR Bachelor's degree + MT-BC
- LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, or OT preferred
- One year prior inpatient clinical experience preferred. Six months prior experience as a group leader preferred.
