Position Overview:

SOVAH Health is currently seeking a PRN Echocardiography Technician. This role involves performing a range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the supervision of healthcare providers. The technician will be responsible for executing imaging procedures that require independent judgment and technical skill.

  • Utilizes ultrasound technology to conduct clinical diagnostic exams and routine invasive procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintains diagnostic equipment and supplies, ensuring a well-organized workspace.
  • Welcomes patients, explains procedures, and ensures their comfort throughout the process.
  • Delivers patient services across all age groups using various imaging modalities.
  • Maintains accurate patient records and assists with scheduling to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Confirms that appropriate orders are obtained and adhered to during all procedures.
  • Verifies patient identity prior to conducting any imaging procedures.

Educational Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology or Sonographic Technology is mandatory.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking abilities and decisive judgment are essential.
  • Capability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is required, including availability for weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of patient care.

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • American Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registry (ARDMS) certification must be obtained within one year of employment.

Experience:

  • Familiarity with cross-sectional anatomy and physiology is necessary.
  • On-the-job training may be required to gain proficiency with equipment.
