Mental Health Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at COMHAR, Inc. in Walnutport, PA. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing supportive counseling and psychoeducational groups to individuals with psychiatric and health-related needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual supportive counseling and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care.
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene and daily living activities, as well as maintain a therapeutic community and residence.
  • Conduct activities with residents, including educational, social, and leisure programs, and incorporate resident input and suggestions in the planning process.
  • Document progress notes and incidents in clinical charts and residential logs, and report immediately to Shift Supervisors.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions, including Quality Improvement Program and multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings.
Requirements:
  • AA in human services + 2 years MH/MR related experience;
  • High School/GED + 4 years of Mental Health / Intellectual Disability related experience;
  • Valid driver's license required.
