Mechanic I

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic I to join our team at Quinnipiac University. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing skilled general maintenance on our buildings, grounds, property, and related buildings, as well as snow removal.
Key Responsibilities- Perform skilled general maintenance on Quinnipiac University buildings, grounds, property, or related buildings, and snow removal.
- Perform a variety of tasks with more than average skill in three or more of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and machine maintenance.
- Perform highly skilled repairs on vehicles and motorized equipment, and drive trucks and other equipment as required.
- Perform a variety of tasks with more than average skill in one or more of the following areas: electrical and mechanical installations, heating and air conditioning units.
- Supervise Maintenance Mechanic II's, Groundskeepers, Custodians, or other employees assigned to work as Maintenance Mechanic helpers.
- Perform all duties listed in Mechanic I General job description.
- Must have a valid CT driver's license.
- Prior experience in grounds maintenance as described above.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
This is a union position with an hourly rate of $37.15. The hours for this position are Thursday-Monday 4:00pm to 12:30am.
