We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Lab Technician to join our team at Northeast Georgia Health System, Inc. As a Medical Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing, facilitating rapid patient recovery, and maintaining proper records in accordance with Joint Commission requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and stat testing according to department policy and established time frames.
- Independently analyze samples and interpret results according to established criteria.
- Lend assistance to other areas of the laboratory as needed to facilitate specimen implementation.
- Perform equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Maintain lab records and documentation, entering data into the computer system.
- Consult with Section Supervisor or pathologist on questionable lab results.
- Review and enter daily Q.C. data in the computer.
- Interpret Q.C. data according to established rules and policies, calling supervisors' attention to any abnormal results.
- Precept MLT students as needed.
- Attend at least 80% of all continuing education programs as established by the laboratory.
- Regularly provide suggestions for quality improvement in the laboratory.
- Licensure or other certifications: ASCP, NCA, or AMT. Meets the requirements of the State of Georgia.
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum Experience: Two (2) - three (3) years (not including internship and education).
- Preferred Licensure or other certifications.
