Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Technician II to join our team at the State of California. As a key member of our Nutrition Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients by providing exceptional food service and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages to patients and staff in a safe and sanitary environment
  • Assist with food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation
  • Clean and sanitize all food service equipment, dining tables, and chairs
  • Label and date food items using the FIFO method
  • Ensure all cold food items are served below 40 degrees and hot food items are served above 165 degrees
  • Assist with loading and unloading meal delivery food carts and transit carts
  • Receive and store weekly food and non-food orders from the Central Kitchen
  • Follow Nutrition Services Policy and HACCP procedures
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Permanent civil service status, be reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
