Job Summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Per Diem Nurse Practitioner to join their Hematology/Oncology department at Pennsylvania Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated healthcare professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical care to patients, adhering to established protocols and evidence-based practice standards.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations.
  • Identify self properly to patients and families, clarifying the role of the Nurse Practitioner as needed.
  • Function within scope and refer to collaborating physicians when outside of scope or directed by the collaborating physician or patient/family.
  • Participate in performance improvement processes to meet quality of care and service standards.
  • Perform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on patient's clinical needs.
  • Provide patient education, counseling, and instruction regarding patient diagnosis, medical treatments, medications, and preventative care.
  • Participate in and support accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization.
  • Precept NP students and other healthcare learners.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Nursing.
  • At least 2+ years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • PA and/or NJ CRNP licensure and Prescriptive Authority required.
  • ACLS (For providers in the acute care setting) and BLS/CPR (For providers in the ambulatory setting) required.
