Paramedic Instructor

UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ is seeking a highly qualified Paramedic Instructor to join our team. As a Paramedic Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching course segments as assigned by the Dean of Plainfield Campus and Allied Sciences and/or the Paramedic Program Director.

• Teach assigned course material/skill labs in accordance with the approved course outline and schedule, incorporating alternative approaches, technologies, and methods when possible.
• Coordinate supervision and provide frequent assessments of students' progress in achieving acceptable program requirements.
• Attend class sessions as scheduled and advise the Program Director of absences in a timely manner.
• Cooperate with the Dean and/or Program Director in developing and revising courses of study and curricula when asked.
• Cooperate with the Dean and/or Program Director in recruitment and advisement of students.
• Incorporate an appreciation of diverse lifestyles, cultures, and national perspectives into courses.
• Attend scheduled program staff meetings and represent the College and Program appropriately to the community.
• Plan in advance to ensure availability of classroom equipment requisite to successful teaching of assigned tasks.
• Adhere to professional standards of procedures and College policies and procedures.

• Current Paramedic Certification or licenses as needed and appropriate and outlined by the NJ State Department of Health.
• Minimum of High school degree or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated mastery of subject matter of discipline.
• Teaching experience preferred.

• Demonstrated mastery of subject matter or discipline.
• Clinical and/or instructional experience in paramedicine.
• Demonstration of clinical techniques as defined by the paramedic scope of practice.

This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled. Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. Some travel required.

This is a Part Time position, not to exceed 25 hours per week. Flexible schedule to meet department needs. Some evening, weekends, and extended hours will be required. Ability and willingness to travel on short notice to all on and off-campus sites as needed by the College. Hours outside of the traditional weekday work schedule may be required, including evenings and weekends. Employee must establish primary residency in New Jersey within one year of appointment unless an exemption applies.
