About the Role

Sungrow USA Corporation is seeking a skilled Solar Inverter Technician to join our team in Lansing, MI. As a key member of our Field Service team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining solar inverters and ancillary equipment at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical assignments involving installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of string and central solar inverters and/or BESS systems.
  • Conduct general troubleshooting and diagnosis under Sungrow's maintenance and repair guidelines.
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning of solar inverters and BESS systems within schedule and work plans.
  • Investigate solar plant issues, including DC array grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transients.
  • Provide feedback to the engineering and project team on possible mechanical and electrical design improvements.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science Discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Renewable industry experience is desired.
  • Power Electronics experience is desired.
  • OSHA 10 certificate within 12 months of date of hire.
  • NFPA 70e certificate within 12 months of date of hire.

Competencies:

  • Strong demonstration of workplace safety practices.
  • Understands and follows a Safety Plan.
  • Comprehend Job Hazard Analysis and conduct level-appropriate Job Hazard Analysis.
  • Designated as Authorized Person for LOTO.
  • Compliant with environmental safety requirements.

Travel: 80% Plus

Work Location and Status: Full time, Lansing, MI area

Compensation: Compensation commensurate with experience
