POSITION SUMMARY:
The Material Handler II is responsible for executing tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of performance and safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Material Management: Efficiently load, unload, and transport materials within warehouse and production settings utilizing forklifts, pallet jacks, and other handling equipment.
- Delivery Coordination: Ensure the precise and timely distribution of materials to specified locations.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate company vehicles for the transportation of materials and equipment across various sites, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Organize and oversee inventory in the warehouse, ensuring materials are stored correctly and are easily retrievable.
- Inventory Audits: Conduct regular checks on inventory levels and report any discrepancies.
- Equipment Upkeep: Perform routine maintenance on trucks and trailers, ensuring they remain in optimal working condition and scheduling repairs as necessary.
- Safety Compliance: Uphold compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding material handling and transportation.
- Team Collaboration: Engage in effective communication with team members and supervisors to synchronize material handling operations.
- Training Support: Assist in onboarding new employees by providing training on material handling protocols and equipment usage.
- Additional Duties: Carry out other responsibilities as assigned based on expertise and business requirements.
- Safety Commitment: Contribute to a secure, accident-free workplace by adhering to all safety guidelines and policies established by the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with semi-tractor/trailer operations.
- Forklift operation experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in material handling and warehouse functions.
- Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to perform basic maintenance on trucks and trailers.
- Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Physical ability to lift and transport materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Proficient reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude.
- The physical demands of this role require the employee to regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods, as well as lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
