Truck Maintenance Specialist

At Performance Foodservice, we are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician Class A to join our team. As a Truck Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, convertor dollies, and maintenance vehicles with minimal supervision.
- Perform overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions, as well as preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment.
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition, replacing parts as necessary.
- Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed "roadworthy".
- Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through our online Enterprise Asset Management system.
- Install, replace, and repair onboard computers, as well as perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
- Train and provide guidance to other mechanics, as needed.
Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required, with 5-7 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience, including PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration &/or overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in refrigeration &/or overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions is preferred.
Benefits:

- Sunday - Thursday schedule: 3:00pm -11:30pm.

Estimated Salary Range: Based on industry standards and location, the estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
