Custodial Technician - Jefferson County Area
Job Overview
Location: Jefferson County - Watertown, NY
Education Requirement: None
Compensation: $21.77 Hourly
Travel Requirements: None
Position Type: Full-time, up to 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime may be necessary. Shifts may include nights, days, weekends, and holidays based on contract needs.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in custodial services is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently.
- Must be capable of navigating stairs without difficulty.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and various chemical labels.
- Willingness to learn the proper use of cleaning agents and custodial supplies.
- Willingness to learn maintenance and safety features of custodial equipment.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass all necessary background checks.
Job Summary: Responsible for performing general cleaning tasks and maintaining assigned work areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate maintenance equipment as assigned.
- Utilize carpet cleaning machines as needed.
- Conduct trash removal and waste management.
- Perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming tasks.
- Execute restroom sanitation and cleaning duties.
- Carry out floor stripping and waxing procedures.
- Wash windows and maintain cleanliness.
- Clean and disinfect animal inspection facilities and equipment.
- Utilize lawn maintenance tools as required.
- Assist with minor snow removal tasks.
- Monitor equipment usage and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere to safety protocols at all times.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Travel: Must provide own transportation to and from work. Some travel may be necessary between work sites based on contract requirements.
