Job Title: Assistant Branch Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Branch Manager to join our team at Restaurant Depot. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the branch, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive company image.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the branch, including supervising personnel and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  2. Develop and maintain strong business relationships with customers, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  3. Review financial and operational reports, taking necessary actions to improve branch performance.
  4. Direct subordinates to ensure timely and accurate management of warehouse operations, including safety, sanitation, and inventory control.
  5. Define and communicate service standards and operational mission to employees, monitoring activities to meet branch goals.
  6. Maximize sales opportunities by ensuring high levels of customer service, while meeting budgetary guidelines.
  7. Manage the selection, performance appraisals, and professional development of management-level personnel.
  8. Directly supervise and manage department managers, coaching them on employee relation issues.
  9. Maintain communication with Corporate Offices to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  10. Review inventory on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and product availability.
  11. Complete and process necessary reports and paperwork accurately and timely.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree (preferred but not required).
  2. Minimum 4 years of management experience in food service or grocery distribution.
  3. Background in P&L, inventory control, merchandising, hiring/training staff, front-end operations, cash control, payroll, security/loss prevention.
  4. Strong leadership skills, capable of running a high-volume warehouse operation.
  5. Excellent communication, organizational, and people management/training skills.
  6. Commitment to company values and strong customer orientation.

Work Environment:

  1. The work environment is moderate, with areas that are cold (freezer) and hot (damages area).
  2. The work is mostly performed standing/walking, with the ability to stand/walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
  3. Physical labor is infrequent, but may be required to move merchandise or clean areas.
  4. Industrial vehicles (forklifts, Hilo) move material throughout the warehouse.
