Medical Director of Palliative Care Services Opportunity in Connecticut

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible internal medicine or family medicine physician to join our growing Palliative Care team in Southeastern Connecticut. This position will provide inpatient consultative services at a 206-bed academic community hospital.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have completed fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and have experience working in palliative care medicine. Additional experience growing a service and building an ambulatory program is desired.
Responsibilities- Provide inpatient consultative services to patients with complex medical needs
- Develop and implement care plans that address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, APRNs, social workers, and chaplains
- Participate in clinical education and research opportunities
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Completion of fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
- Experience working in palliative care medicine
- Desirable: experience growing a service and building an ambulatory program
