Long Term Care Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Long Term Care Nurse Specialist at SSM Health.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing skilled nursing care to residents in our long term care facilities, ensuring compliance with established care plans and regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, as you will guide and direct the nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide quality care to acute, subacute, and chronically ill residents, administer medications and treatments according to standards of care, and maintain competency in all required nursing skills.
- Direct CNAs and monitor the workflow of the unit to ensure coordination of care, using the nursing process for assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Maintain accurate inventory of medications at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring accurate distribution to all residents according to the 5 rights, and monitoring for medication side effects.
- Give guidance and direction to auxiliary staff, participate in report meetings at the beginning and end of each shift, and communicate with residents, guardians, and family members on the current condition and needs of residents.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- No experience required, but prior experience in long term care is preferred.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $83,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
