Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Calgon Carbon Corporation is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team at our Equipment and Assembly Facility in Pittsburgh, PA.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to perform various tasks related to the assembly and fabrication of mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the E&A supervisor or group leader and will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general labor functions, including sweeping floors, emptying trash, and cutting grass/snow when needed
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Operate fork trucks and jib hoists
  • Operate small power tools and maintain personal safety equipment
  • Assemble standard products, such as disposorbs, vaporpacs, and high flow ventsorbs
  • Pressure test assembled units to meet necessary requirements
  • Recondition small returnable units, such as cyclesorbs and bulk bins
  • Assist in receiving and verifying quantities of materials and parts delivered to E&A
  • Read instructions and drawings for reconditioning and assembly of standard products
  • Fabricate lined pipe (PPL and TFE) and cut, thread, and assemble carbon steel pipe, plastic pipe, and stainless steel pipe
  • Assist with warehousing duties and perform layout and assembly on small equipment
  • Maintain CCC's service equipment, including dual modules, mobile adsorbers, filters, and other equipment
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • 0-2 years of general labor experience
  • Industrial labor experience preferred
