Overview:
The Culinary Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of meal preparation and kitchen operations. This position is responsible for the preparation of salad bar selections, desserts, and baked goods while ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and safety are upheld throughout the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef with meal preparation and kitchen management.
- Contribute to the procurement of food supplies and inventory management.
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of food items in compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain and operate kitchen equipment effectively.
- Uphold a clean and sanitary work environment, including regular cleaning of kitchen areas.
- Prepare and create baked goods, including breads and desserts.
- Set up and manage the salad bar as required.
- Assist in organizing and rotating stored food items.
- Support the serving line as needed during meal times.
- Address personnel conflicts and service issues within the scope of responsibility.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; additional culinary training preferred.
- Current Serve Safe certification is mandatory.
- Ability to read, write, and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities.
- Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
