Amentum is seeking a Custodian to support our Government customer in Chantilly, VA. Under general supervision, the Custodian will clean and maintain designated areas in office buildings and related work and storage areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Operate floor cleaning and other cleaning equipment to maintain a high level of cleanliness.
  • Remove trash, sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, clean, wash, wax, and buff offices, hallways, storage/warehouse areas, restrooms, windows, kitchen areas, and associated spaces.
  • Comprehend written and oral instructions to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
  • Monitor building for maintenance/safety/security issues and report any violations to immediate Supervisor or Management.
  • Adhere to safety practices and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Employee must have 6+ months custodial experience, including skills in the proper selection and application of cleaning solutions and operation of custodial equipment.
  • Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • Lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking over 4 hours at a time.
  • Working inside and outside, in inclement weather; and on wet, icy, and slippery surfaces.
  • Using a ladder or lift and work on structures or equipment above ground level.
  • Working in cramped or uncomfortable places and positions, pushes/pulls/lifts heavy equipment/supplies/parts.
  • Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
  • Employee may be required to wear gloves, hard hat, or eye protection and other personal protective equipment needed for safe completion of assigned tasks.
