About Maternal-Fetal Medicine

SCF's Maternal-Fetal Medicine department specializes in high-risk obstetrics, providing comprehensive consultations and assessments for pregnancies with complications identified before or during gestation. Our clinic collaborates closely with OB-GYN specialists and certified nurse midwives to prioritize the health and safety of mothers and their newborns.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Possession of an M.D. or D.O. degree is mandatory.
  • Must be licensed as a Physician in the State of Alaska or have the ability to obtain licensure before the start date.
  • Current certification from the American Board in a relevant specialty is required.
  • Must meet all criteria to secure associate medical staff membership and necessary service privileges.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential. Additional certifications such as ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS may be required based on specialty and scope of practice.

Employee Health Compliance:

Adherence to SCF's Employee Health Procedure is a prerequisite for employment.

All candidates must agree to complete job-related health screenings and immunizations prior to commencing employment.

Positions classified as Health Care Personnel (HCP) necessitate documentation of completed immunizations, including MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap (Tetanus - Diphtheria - Pertussis), and COVID-19 vaccination.
