About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Mt Vernon Developmental Center for a 52 week assignment. As an LPN, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our center.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering nursing care within the scope of practice under the direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, dentist, podiatrist, optometrist, or chiropractor. This will include tasks such as administering oxygen, applying sterile dressings, inserting catheters, reinserting gastrostomy tubes, suctioning, and irrigating wounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications in oral, rectal, topical, or injectable form and provide medication instructions to patients.
  • Maintain medication accountability records, chart patient records, prepare and count medications, and maintain medical equipment and supplies.
  • Observe, document, and report patient conditions, including medication reactions, treatment responses, patient behavior, and progress.
  • Provide general nursing and direct care assistance, including taking vital signs, assisting with personal grooming and hygiene, repositioning patients, and responding to patient alarms.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license as per Division (F) of Section 4723.01 of Ohio Revised Code.
  • Minimum years of experience not specified.
  • Ability to work weekends as required; flexibility for 8-12 hour shifts on weekends if preferred.
