Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of tasks to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities. This includes performing repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of our buildings and grounds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and other systems as needed

• Troubleshoot and repair issues with light electrical and plumbing systems, including outlets, switches, light fixtures, and more

• Perform HVAC troubleshooting and servicing, including cleaning units and replacing filters

• Make repairs to damaged sheetrock and plaster, sand, and paint as necessary

• Repair and replace windows, doors, locks, and flooring, and assemble and install room furniture

• Perform preventative maintenance checklists as directed by Supervisor

• May assist with transfers or packing and storing of residents' belongings

• In the absence of Custodian/Driver, perform all necessary custodial duties and drive agency vehicles to transport clients and materials

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED with English and Math skills required

• Trade/Technical School training a plus

• Two (2) years mechanical experience and experience with floor care equipment and procedures necessary

• Valid NYS Driver's License and clean record required
