Behavioral Consultant II

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavioral Consultant II to join our team at the State of Kansas. This role will play a critical part in providing behavioral services to individuals in our crisis stabilization unit.
Key Responsibilities- Provide behavioral services to individuals in our crisis stabilization unit, including assessment, development, and implementation of behavioral plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for individuals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to ensure seamless transitions and support.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices and evidence-based interventions.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication.
- One year of experience in providing or supervising the care of individuals in a mental health or intellectual disability facility, or in an independent or transitional living setting.
- Obtain certification as a Registered Behavior Technician through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board within 3 months of employment.
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, special education, or human services related field; or Certified as a Registered Behavior Technician through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board; or Knowledge in intellectual disability, mental illness, positive behavior support, essential lifestyle planning, and person-centered support programs; experience in providing services to persons with disabilities.
- One-year experience planning, organizing, and directing the work of a department, program or agency. Education may be substituted as determined by the relevant agency.
- Staff who operates a motor vehicle must possess a valid Kansas driver's license. Positions in this class require that at the time of appointment the selected candidate must take and pass a drug screening test approved by the Division of Personnel Services. Persons hired must also pass a law enforcement security clearance in compliance with policies of the Department of Aging and Disability Services.
