Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled General Engineer to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC). As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing complex multi-discipline projects, preparing design documents, and providing expert consultant services to Navy personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage significant multi-discipline projects, ensuring technical aspects are complete and accurate.
  • Prepare original concepts, preliminary and final design documents, and ensure compliance with Navy standards.
  • Provide expert consultant services on Weight Handling Equipment to Navy military and civilian personnel.
  • Manage the configuration of regional cranes to ensure compliance with Navy standards.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
Qualifications
  1. Applying knowledge of WHE electrical, mechanical, or structural engineering, operating conditions, and design approaches to provide expert advice on complex work assignments.
  2. Coordinating, planning, and executing WHE projects.
  3. Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and manufactures manuals and schematic instructions.
  4. Independently planning, organizing, and scheduling work to meet deadlines.
  5. Making presentations and technical reports in oral and written form to management.
