We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School Nurse Substitute to join our team at Royal School District 160. As a School Nurse Substitute, you will work closely with our school nurse to provide nursing care to students and staff.
Responsibilities:- Provide nursing tasks as directed by the RN, including medication administration, insulin administration, and medical procedures.
- Provide first aid, emergency services, and routine care as necessary for students, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain health-related records and stock supplies in the health room as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the school nurse to report findings and receive ongoing direction and support.
- Perform health screenings and train volunteers or staff as necessary.
- Attend field trips with students who require a licensed nurse and report incidents as required.
- Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
- Previous experience working with school-age children is preferred.
- Background check, fingerprinting, and sexual misconduct disclosure release.
The School Nurse Substitute will work in a generally hazard-free environment with some exposure to infectious diseases. The position requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, as well as significant fine finger dexterity.
