The Senior Industrial Designer position at UPPAbaby focuses on a holistic design approach, starting with ideation and working up through manufacturing within the juvenile product market. A senior designer brings a high level of understanding with regard to a cohesive design across an entire product line while keeping these designs consistent with our brand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Research and Development: Conduct thorough research and analysis of industry trends to inform design decisions.
  • Innovative Thinking and Communication: Develop innovative ideas and effectively communicate them through sketching, 3D modeling, and written reports.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the mechanical engineering team to ensure product manufacturability and integrity.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor junior design staff and assist them in understanding our design process and brand.
  • Communication and Project Management: Communicate effectively with overseas factories, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and breadboard ideas to test and refine design concepts.
  • Engineering and Design Collaboration: Work with external engineering and design resources to complete product specifications and BOMs.
  • Project Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule projects with project management to ensure timely completion and effective communication.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in industrial design or higher, with 5-7 years of experience in industrial design and product development.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-motivation, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
