Rail Yard Diesel Mechanic Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Repair Specialist to join our team at our East St. Louis, Illinois rail terminal. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing routine equipment maintenance, diagnosing and repairing overhead cranes and side-loader equipment, and addressing maintenance needs for the hostler fleet, forklifts, and company vehicles.

Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000-$75,000, depending on experience. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K retirement plan, paid time off, and yearly raises. Key Responsibilities
This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure seamless operations. Key responsibilities include:
  • Performing routine equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnosing and repairing overhead cranes and side-loader equipment.
  • Addressing maintenance needs for the hostler fleet, forklifts, and company vehicles.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of the hostler fleet.
  • Performing welding and fabricating tasks.
  • Working on electrical components.

Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Pass a 7-year background check.
  • Pass a drug test and IPCS Physical Capabilities Test.
