Key Responsibilities:

As a Relief Veterinary Technician at PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic, you will provide exceptional care to pet patients and their loved ones. Your duties will include:

  • Providing compassionate care to pet patients
  • Keeping accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
  • Performing physical assessments and recording observations
  • Keeping furry friends calm and still during procedures
  • Explaining necessary follow-up and home care instructions
  • Assisting the Veterinarian in procedures, including blood draws, preparing patients for surgery, administering anesthesia, and monitoring patients during surgery and recovery
  • Comfortable taking radiographs, small animal restraint, triage, and monitoring anesthesia
  • Obtaining laboratory sample collection, processing, and interpreting results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to commit to evening shifts and one weekend day
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience
