Mammography Technologist

Duke Health is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of health.

The Mammography Technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of technical activities associated with screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. This includes operating mammographic radiographic equipment, positioning patients, calculating exposure factors, and assisting physicians. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing quality control functions, evaluating radiographs, and preparing medical supplies.

• Perform mammography procedures, including screening and diagnostic exams
• Operate mammographic radiographic equipment and other devices as necessary
• Position patients and use immobilization techniques when required
• Calculate exposure factors and assist physicians as needed
• Perform quality control functions related to mammography
• Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as necessary
• Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic techniques
• Explain procedures to patients and provide education on mammography
• Charge mammographic procedures and supplies in Maestro or EPIC
• Provide orientation and education to new Mammographers and student Mammographers
• Assist in maintenance and compilation of statistical data
• Monitor mammography section procedures and supply charges for completeness and accuracy

• Graduate or completion of a program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification
• ARRT certification in radiography and advanced certification in mammography
• FDA/MQSA qualified, including meeting MQSA CE requirements
• BLS certification
