Work Schedule: Full-time - Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Outreach Program Coordinator is accountable for the daily functions of the outreach center.

  • Overseeing the daily operations of Outreach, ensuring adherence to established processes.
  • Managing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Evaluating the basic needs of youth and providing essential services such as food, hygiene products, community resources, and clothing.
  • Exhibiting knowledge of community resources available to youth experiencing homelessness.
  • Documenting all interactions with youth, including timely supplemental reports, and promptly notifying the Director of Operations of any significant issues.
  • Assessing the need for safe place sites in the community and recruiting businesses to participate as Safe Place sites, training staff on related procedures.
  • Collaborating with the development team to schedule presentations in local schools and other venues to inform students about the Safe Place program and available services.
  • Maintaining records necessary for evaluation and statistical reporting, submitting required monthly and annual data punctually, and conducting annual evaluations of the Safe Place program.
  • Participating in meetings, conferences, and training sessions as directed.
  • Collecting and entering necessary data for Outreach on a weekly basis.
  • Fostering positive community partnerships.
  • Demonstrating effective crisis intervention and problem-solving skills in providing essential services to youth.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least twenty-one years of age.
  • Regular on-site attendance is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development and issues affecting homeless youth and families.
  • Experience in case management.
  • Respect and acceptance of diverse populations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with youth, their families, staff, professionals, and law enforcement.
  • Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and ability to transport program youth as necessary.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to perform minor to moderate lifting.
  • Completion of a thorough criminal history and background investigation.
Education
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in human services, behavioral sciences, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree.
