Join the City of Deltona's Finance Department as a Deputy Finance Director, a key role in overseeing and managing the daily operations of the department.

The Deputy Finance Director will provide direct and indirect supervision of department staff, assist with training, handle discipline, and oversee performance. This role will also coordinate and facilitate department workflow, assign duties, and act as a key participant in budget preparation and processing.

• Provides direct and indirect supervision of department staff, including training, discipline, and performance oversight.
• Coordinates and facilitates department workflow, assigns duties, and ensures efficient operations.
• Acts as a key participant in budget preparation and processing, including liaison work with Deltona Water, Stormwater, and Public Works departments.
• Participates in and facilitates annual reporting for outside auditors, with a focus on comprehensive annual financial report preparation.
• Assists with debt administration and compliance, and participates in evaluation and implementation of new policies, software, and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will require a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, and six years of highly responsible experience in government accounting and/or auditing, including direct and extensive involvement in the preparation of AFR, CAFR, and/or annual budget documents.

A Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred, as is a Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) certification. A valid State of Florida Driver's License is also required.
